Classic Western themes are explored throughout this riveting show, consisting of incredible arrangements from the 2016 movie, “The Magnificent 7.”
1. Injustice in the West
As the show begins, we can visualize a Western town, with tumbleweeds blowing in the dusty air. This movement develops the theme song of the Antagonist who oppresses the town, using music from “Seven Angels of Vengeance.”
2. One Last Hope
In this movement, we develop the theme for the hero using music from “Volcano Springs.” Beautiful French horn solos lead into a duet, setting a triumphant tone for this segment, before picking up a brisk tempo that propels us into the rest of the production.
3. Dark Before the Dawn
Utilizing music from “Darkest Hour,” all hope seems to be lost as the hero tries to rally against the villain. A French horn and Trumpet solo set the tone of this somber piece, before a woodwind choir plays the melodic material. As the lone snare drum enters in what feels like the beginning of a funeral march, the tides begin to turn. Sadness morphs into hope, building tension as we prepare for our final showdown.
4. Justice
In an epic battle, our hero is victorious as justice is served in the West!
